Peter Brodnicki

Chief Executive, Mortgage Advice Bureau

Peter was one of the founders of MAB in 2000. He has over 30 years’ mortgage and financial services experience. Immediately prior to founding MAB, he was with Legal & General for five years where he held the position of Head of the Estate Agency Network, and also latterly as Recruitment Director.

Peter’s experience prior to Legal & General includes sales and management roles at Albany Life, before which Peter was at John Charcol.

Peter has received a number of industry awards in recent years, including Business Leader of the Year (three consecutive years), Mortgage Strategist of the Year (two consecutive years), and the Industry’s Most Influential Person.

Ben Thompson

Managing Director, Mortgage Advice Bureau

Ben was most recently Chief Executive Officer of ULS Technology plc, the provider of online B2B platforms for the UK conveyancing and financial intermediary markets.

Prior to that he held senior positions at Legal & General Group Plc, where he ran their market-leading mortgage distribution business, as well as the banking division.

Andy Walton

Protection Proposition Director, Mortgage Advice Bureau

Andy has been in the industry for over 30 years – with 20 years specialising in protection sales. His experience has been gained with providers London & Manchester, L&G and Aegon.

Over the last 8-years Andy has worked with large distribution networks – while head of protection at Intrinsic protection grew from £29m to £82m over 5 years. Last year, Andy joined Mortgage Advice Bureau as Protection Proposition Director and since then has launched MAB’s new Protection Process, new Protection Masterclasses and SolutionBuilder.

Andy is passionate about protection and continues champion the very best customer outcomes.

Gareth Herbert

Sales Director, Mortgage Advice Bureau

Gareth joined MAB in 2005. Previously he spent eight years as Regional Director at Mortgage Direct (Spicer Haart Group), having begun his career in the Home Service industry with Liverpool & Victoria before moving into management.

Jez Rose

Bharat Sagar

Executive Chairman, AE3 Media

Bharat started his working life as a biophysicist. He was worse than useless at it and meandered into financial publishing. In 1986 he launched Your Mortgage magazine which is still the dominant consumer media brand in the mortgage space. He has been deeply involved in the UK mortgage market ever since.

Bharat is currently executive chairman of AE3 Media. An MBO from Incisive Media . This is the largest publishing entity dedicated to mortgages in Europe. Its assets includes Mortgage Solutions, Your Mortgage magazine, yourmortgage.co.uk, Your Mortgage Awards, The British Mortgage Awards, The Mortgage Event, The British Mortgage Senate, Equity Release Awards,Buy to Let Forum,Your Money and the Your Money Awards. It also has the privilege of running awards programmes for Legal & General; the annual dinners for AMI and IMLA . It also runs bespoke forums and roadshows for major lenders and distributors. It also works closely with UKAR on its customer engagement programme.

Since 2008 he has also worked in a consultancy capacity for a number of lenders and distributors. He currently is working with IMLA among others in a commercial capacity.

Emma Hollingworth

Mortgage Proposition Director, Mortgage Advice Bureau

Emma has been in the Mortgage industry for more than 20 years – Emma started life as a Mortgage Adviser, selling her first mortgage at the age of 17. She then moved into the world of mortgage distribution working for the last 14 years for MSN, SimplyBiz and most recently Intrinsic. Whilst at Intrinsic as Mortgage Sales Director, Emma was responsible for the end to end Mortgage proposition which in her 5 years there saw Intrinsic gross lending grow from £3.65bn to over £15bn.

Last year, Emma joined Mortgage Advice Bureau as Mortgage Proposition Director responsible for the overall end to end mortgage proposition and also delivery of the MAB2020 project.

Dan Maunder

Chief Technology Officer, Mortgage Advice Bureau

Dan joins MAB as CTO from Picsolve International where he spent the last 18 months redefining digital attraction photography, leading the organisation to launch a new AI driven product suite.  Dan has almost 15 years’ experience in Software, Product, Technology delivery and has lead multi-faceted globally dispersed technology organisations. 

Dan brings with him a history of FinTech and has worked with some of the world’s leading financial brands such as Experian and Citi.  Dan actively supports the UK Technology community and has recently been awarded a Fellowship of the British Computer Society.

Miguel Sard

Director of Mortgages, Santander

Miguel heads up Santander’s UK mortgage division, a role he has held since December 2013 when the bank’s mortgage product and marketing responsibilities across its retail and intermediary channels were pooled in one department.

As managing director of this division he is responsible for Santander’s entire UK mortgage proposition, including product development, distribution and the customer experience.

Prior to this appointment, Miguel held the position of Managing Director of Santander for Intermediaries between May 2011 and December 2013. He also held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Santander Insurance Services in the UK.

Charles Morley

Director of Mortgage Distribution, Metro Bank

Charles has over 30 years’ experience within the financial service sector, the majority gained in the UK mortgage market having held senior sales and distribution roles with a number of lenders.

He is currently Director of Mortgage Distribution at Metro Bank and has overall responsibility for both the intermediary and direct arms of the mortgage business, as well as T&C oversight and external intermediary communication.

Chris Pearson

Head of HSBC UK for Intermediaries, HSBC UK

Chris joined HSBC in 2014 as Regional Wealth Director, responsible for wealth and mortgage distribution within the branch network.  At the same time he set up the UK distribution team for HSBC Intermediary Mortgages, which now has full UK BDM coverage and a telephony team with access to over 80% of the broker market. 

Chris has previously held senior positions in the broker market as Director of RBS Intermediary Partners, Head of Sales & Marketing at BM Solutions and Head of National Accounts & New Build at Halifax Intermediaries.
